Astrobin needs an ignore feature to filter out unwanted members

I think what would improve Astrobin for its members would be an Ignore feature.

Just a nice bin to dump folks you find are clutter. Works great to cull out people other places I’ve been.

You can already “shadow-ban” another user. On any user’s gallery page, open the three-dots menu in the top right and use the shadow-ban option. That will:

  • Stop you from receiving notifications from them

  • Prevent them from sending you private messages

  • Hide their comments from your images

At the moment, this does not hide their posts or replies in the forums.

I’m considering expanding this in the future, but hiding forum replies introduces trade-offs. Threads can become confusing to read when some responses are missing, especially in technical discussions where context matters.
