Data Request

Hello All,

I had a rather unfortunate event recently that most of us have probably experienced at one point in our AP careers. I had been shooting NGC2264 otherwise know as the Christmas Tree Nebula over the last 4 weeks. I was excited to start processing the data on Friday and I transferred everything over to my Crucial X10 SSD and blinked all the files in PI after the transfer. Long story short, when I open the SSD on Saturday, to my horror, the data was gone and appears to be unretrievable :( I made the rookie mistake of not backing it up. So, I’m basically out-of-luck.

I’m looking for someone that is willing to share some data with me to process. I’m asking because I’m traveling for work a good amount over the next few weeks and will be unable to shoot. Just looking for some date to process to hold me over, preferably something with nebulosity :) Please send me a message if you can help.

Thanks, in advance!

Jeff

Are you asking for raw unprocessed frames or the final stacked up image(s)?

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for asking. I’m looking for raw, calibrated stacked masters. The raw individual frames would be too large to transfer.

Then PM me for the details...

Porque no vas a las web de los grandes telescopios y descargas los archivos de ellos . Te serán muy divertidos . Editar mega datos . Como alternativa 👍👍👍👍

Good idea, Gabi! Thank you!

I can send you some calibrated masters for the tadpoles nebula. It’s monochrome HaRGB masters. A bit of a challenenge too bc of the bad gradients in the broadband channels. You interested? if so, send me a PM

Hi Jeff,

Sorry to hear that.

I have masters in SHO for a total of 10 hours or so at 900mm… If you are interested, PM me and I share them with you, as long as you add me as contributor when posting the resulting image in Astrobin…

Hey mate,

I don’t know if you’re still interested, but I have a 35+ hour dataset on NGC 6888. It was captured with a C8 EdgeHD, QHY 268M, and a SkyWatcher HEQ5 Pro at the native 2000mm focal length, with 10-minute subs. It’s a full Ha, OIII, and LRGB dataset, and I have calibrated master files available.

If you’d like to give it a try or maybe even do a collaboration, I’d absolutely love that. I’m still struggling a bit with processing the image myself, so it would be great to see what you could make out of the data.
