Hi all,

I’ve been looking at the Artesky Artec 300 E F/4.5 Newtonian Astrograph and I’m curious about other people’s experience with it:

A few specific things I’m wondering:

  1. Overall optical performance — how do stars look toward the edges? Any noticeable coma or field curvature?

  2. Collimation stability — is it easy to collimate and does it stay in good collimation over a night/session?

  3. Focuser quality and travel — is the focuser smooth, rigid, and sufficient for imaging?

  4. Backfocus — can anyone share the exact backfocus measurement from the flange/secondary to the focal plane?

I’m specifically interested in whether the backfocus works well with an OAG-L (ZWO) + ASI2600MM + 7-position ZWO filter wheel — does that train reach focus without issues? Any spacing or adapter notes would also be useful.

Thanks in advance for any insights or experiences!
