Hi everyone!

I'm an amateur photographer with a passion for astrophotography and I'm working on a project to observe the sun at different times of the day: shortly after sunrise, at midday, and shortly before sunset. I'm using a Nikon P1000 with a solar filter and I'm collecting images to document variations in its activity.

For now, I did an initial month-long test last November, which I continued through December, but then I stopped due to the frequent cloud cover in my area (Emilia Romagna, Italy).

The results of our observations are available at this link (if it asks for confirmation of your invitation, i try to do so sooner):

Now I'd like to resume the activities, but with a broader perspective, which is why I'm writing here.

Project Goal

I'd like to involve amateur(or not) astronomers from different locations to create an integrated 24-hour solar observation. This will allow us to compare images and observations from different time zones and angles.

Come and Participate

• When: I plan to organize it every day for a month (potentially starting in February, but it will be agreed upon with participants).

• Where: Everyone will observe the sun from their own observation points.

• What to Do: We'll take photos and, if possible/useful, take notes on the weather conditions and solar activity per day.

• Sharing: We'll share the images and notes in our group/forum (we can create a Facebook group, use this existing forum, or use a GDrive or other shared space).

Contact

If you're interested in participating or have any suggestions, please write to me here or send me a message at solarlunarastro@gmail.com. I'll be happy to answer any questions!

Thank you, and I hope I've piqued your interest!
