Hi Jerry,
Not long ago my computer somehow did an update and it, once again, screwed things up.
In my experience newest updates are half-baked and buggy. So, for that reason I tend to stay back from the latest updates. I just do not want to deal with the carp some of them present. So you could check for new updates and see if any came in. In Windows that is under settings and then Windows updates.
Often the easiest fix for me is to remove a program that is misbehaving then reinstall it from my downloads folder. Why the downloads folder? because I have experience with those programs as being workable for me.
One of the biggest headaches in recent memory was with ASTAP. A contributor other than HanK had tried to adapt ASTAP for Apple and it broke the app (Program). I worked around ASTAP for months and had almost given up on it when I went into my Download folder and found a download from WAY back (8 months prior). I installed it after removing any ASTAP software I could find, and it FIXED my ASTAP.
A couple of months later Han himself realized ASTAP needed his experienced hand in it and fixed and issued a fixed ASTAP download. I grabbed it and it worked great.
So, you might check your downloads folder for older version downloads and try removing your troublesome current version and installing the earlier downloaded ones. That works for me.
