Player One + Nikon lenses?

Hi,

Is anyone using a Player One deep sky monochrome camera (Poseidon or Zeus) with Nikon lenses? I am trying to decipher what a Poseidon/Zeus + filter wheel would look like attached to a Rokinon 135 (Nikon mount). ZWO makes this easy but I am entertaining other options. Anyone have experience putting a system like this together?

I entertained it and it would only work with a custom adaptor for the F flange.

Not sure that would be feasible in terme of BF.

Nikon f delivers 46.5 bf, from which you have to substact sensor depth which is 12.5 without tilt adjustement ring

Remove 20mm for the filter wheel , that leaves 14 mm for the nikon f to m42 adapter… no way commercially IMHO

The solution 1 could be the zwo adapter with filter drawer which makes sense see https://www.zwoastro.com/product/zwo-new-filter-drawer/

The solution 2 needs some checking : zwo has a m54 nikon adapter compatible with zwo 2” efw from zwo ; it should be checked that direct mounting is possible with the camera today the efw https://www.zwoastro.com/product/zwo-zwo-nikon-lens-adapter-for-2-filter-wheel/

Solution 1 is bullet proof

Hi,

You could buy an macro ring set and use the 12mm ring. 3D print the adapter with thread to the Poseidon or Zeus camera. I have done 3D printed a lot of adapter rings with thread M42×0.75 with PETG and they are very strong.
