I'm learning a lot from all of you and just wanted to say thanks. Below are two images of the Crescent nebula with the same relatively weak data. The second one was where I used Starnet to take out the stars, boost the Crescent and the nebula and then add the stars back in. I didn't realise how useful Starnet was until I came on here.

Nice! I also absolutely loved Starnet once I saw what it can do. If it continues to be a tool you use frequently, check out the 'fix' that lets you use your GPU to run Starnet several orders of magnitude faster (if you have an NVIDIA card).

I was having an issue with it leaving behind a lot of dim stars, but then read a tutorial that mentioned needing to reduce drizzled images back to original size before applying, which made a huge difference. Is this well known and I missed it along the way? Just DSLR data? Just my DSLR data?....

Yes Starnet is a very powerful tool Andy! I love it as well! Its hard to believe this is a free program!

As @AstroDarkSky mentioned, there is that “fix” but if you don’t have that you can use “swap” folders and it will help out as well. Not a fast as the GPU, but it does help.
