M31 Andromeda Galaxy looking for critiques

I finally settled on this version of M31 reprocessing M31 a few times.

I have seen different version of M31. I add the Ha using Continuum Subtraction and adding Ha to RGB scripts in Pixisinsight.

I finally fixed my star issue by not using a CC template with auto detect on. I just set WBPP Color Calibration on Auto.

Drizzle 2X and then Integer Resample down 2 median after running BlurXT.

Let me know what you think.

I think this is a fine M31. Colors are not over baked and the core isn’t blown out. Star colors look good. It’s a good middle of the road, wide field M31.

I like it! Colors pop naturally in both the galaxy and the stars, which were not reduced excessively in prominence. The dynamic range is good and there’s no trace of residuals of artificial gradients hiding in M31’s extended halo.

A question from a perspective of relative inexperience: what is the purpose of the “Drizzle > BXT > Resample” pipeline? Is it to nullify stacking artefacts?

Thanks Marco,

It’s to resample the image back down to the native resolution. I use Drizzle 2X since the image is undersampled but the file size is large and processing intensive. There are several tutorials on YT that demonstrate using Blur XT and then using Integer Resample. I use 2X down median.

After that I run my workflow.
