How (un)lucky is that? The only image of the object that I know of and I get THREE stray light beams! Crappy refractor.

So what is the source of these? I have an SCT and will get an artifact that looks very similar to what you have in the lower left, but can’t figure out its source.

It's an off-field star. They all are. Problem is I shouldn't have to have issues with those with a full frame camera.

The bad one on the corner can be fixed using the GAME with “Write shapes to Files/Views” to stack out the bad corner. Multi-scale gradient connection might be able to clean up the image.

I also know you have a fair amount of imaging experience and can figure it out. 🙂

The older ZWO 2600, 294, 533 all have a reflective blue boarder around the sensor that causes this. They covered the boarder in a black band in the latest sensors used in the more recently purchases cameras. End of the day, if you park a bright star on that blue boarder (or the sliver edge) you get this exact effect in braud band images.

Except this was taken with an ASI2400. A brand new one.

Irrespective of sensor type if it has the blue boarder it can create the issue, the 2400 has it from what i can see. You would have to look at your sample and see if it is present.
