Hello, can any of the users tell me if this is a legitimate site and a trustworthy company

https://telescopes.us.com/ because the products are on a big discount? There is even free shipping for Europe!

Djorgje,

I hope you don’t consider buying from them. Initially, I thought you’re joking. Then decided to respond anyway, in case you’re not – better safe than sorry.

So many red flags:

  • Newly created website selling high-value items. The domain name is registered a couple of months ago.

  • Prices seem too good to be true. Even the base price, before discount, is too low. On checkout there is another hefty discount.

  • The business address listed on the About page looks suspicious.

  • There are some spelling errors and weird language use throughout the site.

  • They claim to be the largest “re-seller” in the country.

  • They state to pay import customs or duty fees for you.

Thanks for the answer, unfortunately I wasn't kidding, I just reacted too quickly and posted this post both here and on Reddit. After a few minutes, I wanted to delete it, but I didn't know how.

Yeah this doesn’t sound fake/scammy at all… 🤔

This site has “scam” written all over it. Everything is on “SALE!”. There is no phone contact number. They caution buyers that it might take a while to hear from them and that for refunds, customers should first contact their bank. Prices are all absurdly low. The amazing thing is that whoever put together this site, knew something about astronomy and they put a lot of work into it. I’m guessing that they will snag a few unsuspecting customers, bank the cash, shut down the site, and disappear into the night.

In addition to what everyone already pointed out, one more thing I noticed is that they’re selling Apertura telescopes — which is High Point Scientific’s own in-house brand and sold exclusively through them (not counting similar models sold under different names by Stellalyra, TS, or others which are different OEM versions but not branded as Apertura). For sure it is what everyone think is

I notice that they're using the high point scientific logo too

complete scam ofc

special discount of 22,898

Edit: Notice it says "Paypal is the first choice. If Paypal fails, use credit card."

I have the gut feeling that Paypal would always fail, and they want you to put in your credit card details, so they steal it.

What’s really stupid is offering impossible deals and discounts. If they just had great but believable deals that scam could have fooled a fair number of people. This is probably totally AI generated, I would expect to see more things like this in the future so be careful.

I hadn’t thought about it much but I think that you are right Tony. AI makes this stuff really easy to generate and the next iteration may be a lot less easy to detect without more serious due diligence.

The site has been around for a while, I found it several months ago but concluded it was too good to be true. Quite interesting that it is still around.
