From an EdgeHD 9.25 noob:

Choose a star overhead.

Defocus by moving the focus knob in the same direction as the autofocus when it finishes. I heard should be counter-clockwise.

Make sure the star is centered before judging the collimation.

Given that, the image is very close, hard to improve, but I see it a little fatter to the lower right. You'd be forgiven for stopping there, though.

Don't overtighten the screws. Just tight enough so they hold. Overtightened screws will give distorted star shapes.

Should hold collimation a long time. But it's easy to check if you suspect it's gone a little out.

I think that if you really want to nail it, you’re supposed to get it as good as you can, then pick a less bright star (or reduce your exposure time) and see how it looks with the star closer to focus.

Also you want to make sure that the donut looks the same on both sides of focus.
