A dream for APT tool nesting

I know I suggested this previously but I’ve added some detail to how the tool feature may work.

Why not just have the open tool names nest above the log window at minumum width like this.

📷 mouseover1.jpgmouseover1.jpgThen returns back to the minimized version like the first image when not in mouse over mode. You could then pin one or more tools out while you open another tool to work on that like this but not loose an open pinned tool.

📷 mouseoverandpin.jpgmouseoverandpin.jpgAs the tools nest in a bar at minimum width, when they expand they would have to push tools over to the right which may extend them further than the width of the log window so there would have to be a slider bar so you can see tools that have pushed to the right.

Thoughts?

Awsome. Thanks for the reply Ivo. It’s exciting that you are looking to implement a solution like this.

It would be great in my opinion if the nested tools behaved like tabs on an internet browser. ie you could reorder them and pull them out so they could be floating tools again. Maybe also contrary to my original post, the nested titles can’t overflow the width of the log window if there are too many nested but the nested title shrinks so that all nested tool titles fit the screen width just like browser tabs.
