Matching sensor corners with subs corners

Hi there,

I have a quite significant sensor tilt issue. Hopefully, I just saw a great thread on Cloudynights revealing that the M42 adapter plate delivered with my touptek ATR2600m can be used as a tilt adapter if one add 6 M2.5 grub screws.

https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/910082-touptekrisingcam-imx571-tilt-adjustment-using-filter-mount-screw-holes/

My question is the following : in order to tune tilt, I need to get an understanding of which sensor corner match which image corner. To put it another way, I need to understand if the image in my file corresponds to the image on the sensor seen from the back of the camera or from the front of the camera. I tried to find some illuminating posts on this issue, but, so far, everything appears confusing.

A hint is much appreciated here.

Simples. Take (make) a 1/4 circle of dark paper so that it fits (and sticks) to whatever corner of the camera window and covers at least few square mm of the corner's sensor. Take a flat and you'll know.

Thanks @andrea tasselli!

Hopefully you are there to promptly solve issues that should been solved without disturbing the community 🤪

I just figured out that the ATR2600m is to be looked from behing the camera to match the image in the screen, with that particularity that the image is rotated by 180° with regards to the inscription at the back ot the camera.

Now I wait for my grub screws.

Thanks again, clear skies,

Patrice

I just pull the camera, put a piece of tape across one corner of the camera to intercept the light path, and remount it. It just take a minute to figure out the orientation. The one recommendation that I have is to clearly mark your camera so that you can read the orientation long after you’ve forgotten which side is which.
