Is it just me or are things slower (Edge)

This is quite likely just me or my setup, but thought I would mention it in case others are seeing it.

I normally use Edge. Lately (week, maybe more) Astrobin has been VERY slow for me. I switched to Firefox and then Chrome and it seemed fine. I have 1g fiber internet that I monitor so it’s not the internet per se, though it could be related to a regional CDN I guess (I’m in North Carolina US).

I also have gotten this message which is a bit baffling — it appears, sits there for a minute or three, then disappears. This message was actually on Firefox.

It’s easy enough to use a different browser, but since I was seeing the issue only on Astrobin I thought I would mention it in case it turns out to be not just me.

But it’s probably just me. I was saying bad stuff about Microsoft lately and they finally caught up with me. 😱

PS. Again, the below is from Firefox in a session that’s working perfectly, in fact it is the screen in which I’m typing this. It’s gone now, it just appeared for a while and vanished. I never saw that on Edge which right now is sitting there with a blank screen after going to explore, groups — I have the black banner at the top and bottom and grey in the rest except a grey-on-black build GUID.

Hi Linwood,

metrics at my disposal indicate that the performance has not degraded recently (except that there was an issue with a deployment a few hours ago which caused a bunch of error 502s).

The message in your screenshot is due to throttling, thanks for reporting! Guess I'll have to increase the limits. I can see that that one was while writing this forum post, so it's probably about tag/title suggestions.

Please let me know if you see it in other contests, and then tell me what you were doing, so I can figure out what needs raising.

I can check logs anyway, actually, so I'll that too :)

Thanks!

Btw, if it's being slow in Edge only, try clearing the browser's cache! (Not the cookies, as it would log you out, just the cache.)

If I recall (and I’m not certain I did) I was just typing in the body of the text. But not sure. Haven’t seen it since.

I wonder if it’s because of the hung session on Chrome coming from a different browser same IP. I tried a few times to get to the same group.

But yes, clearing the cache will fix the won’t-appear-at-all issue. I’m not sure that was the cause of the very-slow issue. Though once I cleaned the cache it was no longer slow either.

Regardless, it’s easy enough to work around in either direction; just a FWIW comment in case I was not the only one.

Thanks.
