HIPS 2 FITS Sky Survey Results Darkened

A few weeks ago, I started getting results from the HIP2FITS Sky Survey in the Framing Assistant, that are significantly darkened, or dimmer, than they used to be. Most dusty regions now don't show up at all. This has been my main target selection and framing tool, so it has become a significant impediment to me.

I can't find any setting in NINA that affects this, and it's probably out of NINA's control given that it probably has something to do with changes on the HIPS2FITS servers. Has anyone seen this–and does anyone have a fix or any suggestions?

I've posed this question on the NINA Discord forum, but there were no responses. I really liked HIPS2FITS because I do a lot of large mosaics, and it supports pulling in a very wide field for framing those. None of the other built-in surveys can handle a field 48 degrees wide.

Not sure if this is what you used to get. I use the off-line maps which offer a wider gamut of objects.

Sorry. It's not. It used to be far more stretched than that. What you show above is exactly what I'm getting now.

Right. What prevents you from using the Off-line Maps instead? They are well stretched and cover all the angles you desire.

Nothing other than the fact that I just need to figure out how to download them and use them. It's certain to be way more efficient in the long run. My only hope is that they reveal a lot more detail than what you show above. But I'll give it a shot and find out.

Thank you so much, @andrea tasselli! Duh. I should have done this a long time ago. The images are not only back to what I expect, the left-drag interface is something I've wanted for a long time.
