MetaGuide won't recognize ZWO 585MC camera, missing directshow driver

I’m attempting to experiment with MetaGuide and I can’t seem to get it to recognize my ZWO 585MC. I know it needs the directshow driver but it’s no longer to be found on the ZWO website. When I run Meta the only camera it recognizes is the one in the laptop. When I try to “select camera” in Meta, nothing happens.

You can download the ZWO direct show driver if you scroll to the bottom on the “Others” section driver site.

Did you try the workaround with sharpcap and broadcasting the video stream to metaguide? That's what I do with my qhy5iii585m. Qhy cameras dont work with metaguide directly either.

I haven’t but I like that idea as I don’t have to mess with drivers. I’ll have to dig into Sharpcap and figure out how to do that

Ahh, there it is. I’ll grab that in case the SharpCap angle won’t work.

From the sharpcap side it's easy, there is a button “Enable live broadcast” and if you activate it SC will broadcast the video stream via UDP to every other client on the network. In Metaguide you have to setup a MG server with an IP and port and if it works it will then receive the live broadcast frames.

I can check later the settings of my mini pc and give you feedback.

Edit: I forgot that the MG server setup is described in NINAs Guiding chapter: click
