Hello everyone!

Not too long ago I compiled a step-by-step guide for subtracting emission from broadband images. Some of you might be familiar with continuum subtraction - this is similar in principle, just instead of subtracting the continuum, you subtract the emission. It works with any processing software that supports pixelmath.

The technique is not very well known but powerful nonetheless. It has many uses from revealing hidden dust and reflection nebulae to improving continuum subtraction accuracy.

You can find the guide here.

I hope you’ll find emissionless processing as useful as I did. If you have any suggestions, questions or need any help with the technique, feel free to write a comment or drop me a PM to let me know.
