I recently got a Skywatcher CQ350 and have been setting it up for the first time. My previous mount was an Orion Skyview Pro GoTo, which I had to always manually set the home position.

In setting up this mount, I got a little confused because there doesn't seem to be any obvious way to set it to home position during setup. Does anyone have a method to do this?  For reference, I'm using ASIAIR software alongside it. I was under the impression the Go to Home button via ASIAIR would only return the mount back to its original start position prior to launching the app, so as I understand it I need to get it to the Home Position first before I begin to polar align?

Yes when you set up your telescope with the Cq350 and asiair, you will want to put the telescope at home position pointing towards Polaris. When you first turn on asiair with everything connected go into the mount tab and select go to home. I like to be watching outside incase it thinks home is at another location. It should do some small slews and realize it’s at home position. If it tries to go somewhere else I would double check your location in the asiair. I would then power down and restart everything until go to home takes the mount to home position. From there you can select the PA tab and do a polar alignment. Hopefully this helps.
