I guess it is the only game in town and I researched it long and wide. I really hate that focuser!

So you replaced the monorail focuser with this one? Why do you hate it? What is the problem with it?

Maybe the UNCG2 might be also an option. I use it on my Carbon Photon 6 Inch f/4 Newton. Link

Rigid and useful with the internal M54 thread.

I should have be clearer; I hate the original one and I didn't replace it yet as I can't really stomach the cost but I might have to swallow the bitter pill one day soon.

*I have the metal one so not sure they are the same but is it a drop in replacement?

Wondering the same. In the description it says only for 8 inch and above, but the 6 inch carbon version comes equipped with this one. Cost about the same as the one I listed.

I was in contact with TS before I ordered the Carbon Photon, so they changed the focuser before they shipped the telescope to me, but they had to use another base.

but they told me its plug and play, because the hole placements for the screws are the same as GSO. Just the UNCG2 and the base and you're good to go.

But beware of EAF placement, because this is a downside with this focuser. You only have one screw to secure the EAF and your bracket has to be long. I bought a cheap L bracket from Aliexpress and with this one it works.

FYI: I got the RAP2DEL recommended from TS first, but decided on the UNCG2 because I needed the lower focuser height for backfocus reasons (Rotator, OAG, FW, Camera). What is a plus, I could use my photon with the more extreme 0.73x reducer now but I will stay at f/4.

Btw. I have a TS Photon Carbon Generation 2.

ES ED 102 focuser options?
Heya. I messed up the brass pinion on my ES ED 102 while putting the ZWO EAF on it. It was in the winter, and I didn’t make sure the pinion and rack were meshed properly when I torqued it down. The pinion teeth(?) are now messed up and the focuser is...
