Activated alumina dessicant

I was just reading an article on desiccants for 3D printing filament and they mentioned activated alumina desiccant. It is supposed to be more effective than silica gel.

Does anyone know about using this in astro-cameras instead of silica gel?

So far as I am aware most cameras use activated alumina desiccant . I have used it extensivly in air purification systems for precision optics in regenerative air dryers.
