Cannot connect to StellaVita while it’s shooting.

I know there’s only a few users yet but I’m wondering if I’m the only one with this issue.

If I lose connection while it’s shooting I can’t reconnect.  There was one occasion where it reconnected while it was auto focusing but if it’s shooting it won’t.  There’s a message that it’s downloading data from the main camera, after a while it seems to connect but then it disconnects again right away.

I wrote Touptek about it but like I said, wondering if others have the same issue.

Sorry, I don’t have this issue.

I have the same issue. I have tried using the Stella Vita connection and with the wireless bridge with the WiFi dongle.  It doesn’t seem to matter how I connect, I can’t reconnect and I loose the connection a lot. I am using an iPhone to control the SV. Have you found a solution?

I think I figured out what the problem was.  I was running the QHYMinicam8 and had powered it through one of the ports on the SV.  The SV did not consistently deliver sufficient power and the camera would stop working.  Then, when the SV tried to reconnect, it could not detect the camera.  I tried a dedicated power source for the camera and have not had the issue happen again.

I always had the minicam powered using the 12v adapter that came with it.

I forgot to come back here and explain.  Touptek told me it’s an issue in the qhyccd sdk.  Apparently on some models it does not allow connection while the sensor is integrating.

At some point during a session it will loose connection because it times out on querying the camera for info.

Then it reconnects, tries to load data from the camera, times out again, disconnects again and repeats that every 5 minutes or so.

You can reproduce this at anytime even inside with a wired connection to your router.  Just start shooting a few darks, quit the SV app on your mobile device and try getting back in.  I’m guessing it won’t , just like me.

Touptek released an update today that is supposed to fix this.  I will report back tomorrow.

Thanks for the update. I’ve been testing various things to try and work around it. I can easily reproduce the problem. If I keep my phone on all the time, it seems to work,  but I don’t quite trust it.  I’ll get the download as well.

The problem appears to be fixed.  I let my iPad go to sleep a few times last night and the app reconnected each time.
