Hello folks

I have an older Paramount ME and I am fairly OK with its performance but the degradation is starting to show. Sending it to Bisque for overhaul and MKS6000 upgrade would cost between $4500-$5000.

Seeing these FORNAX 55/105 with absolute encoders for a little more, one starts to wonder about upgrading.

If you are a present or past owner of the encoder equipped version, do you mind sharing some insight and/or recommendations?

I am very satisfied with the quality and mechanical precision of the Fornax, I think it is a great tool. The controller and driver box is obsolete, they are about to release the new one (MC-7), it is worth waiting for.

Nope, I have the older one. It is the bigger one (150), because of the size of the telescope.
