Just a heads up in case you have one on your kit.
I have been using a 12v SVbony dew strap for 11 months, and a few days ago I took my rig apart to fit new scope and sell my mint Skywatcher Esprit 100, which was in unmarked condition, wrong, when I removed the dew band it’s left a mark all around d the full dew shield, not sure if it’s a scorch mark or just dyed the paint, but I have tried everything and it will not come off, it’s there for good.
Now I am not the only person this has happened too, the exact same had happened to 2 other people I know of.
the dew strap was used with the supplied controller on level 2, from a 12v supply, and then connected to the Pegasus controller on auto dew setting with 75% max setting. so just as it should have been
I am in contact with SVbony on why this should have happened, but I think it’s a combination of a poorly made and much too powerful (20w 😮) dew strap, and very poor cheap paint on the Esprit scope tube.
