Hello
I bought  a set of SHO Ultra-Narrowband Highspeed filters from Baader and it seems that I have some problems with the O3 filter, the image is not uniform and the flat has the same problem. I rotated the filter, and the "fault" also rotates, for this reason I tend to think that the filter has a fault maybe?
My telescope is: RASA 11 with UFC filter holder and ASI6200mm camera.
Flats are made at 2s gain 100 ADU25200.
Hoping for a solution, advise....

Hello Adrian.

Were you able to get any response from Baader on this? I also bought Ultrafasts recently. Never had a chance to test them yet, due to bad weather. But I faced very obvious and totally unexpected problem: Ha filter came with three scratches on the scope-facing surface. The packaging was intact, so I assume the filter was shipped with the defect from the factory. I sent them the question and never got even a response of acknowledgment that they got it.... So dissapointing...

Hello David

I also wrote to Baader about this problem, now, I'm waiting to see if they come up with a solution … I hope
I don't think it's normal to have 3 scratches on a new filter, taking into account the price, but I think that your problem, in the worst case, can be solved with flats

I hope you will get any answer from them. As for my scratches, yes, indeed they can be solved with flats, probably. But the money I sent them for this tiny piece of glass had no scratches and needed no correction either

@David Nozadze, check if you are within the time frame of return (usually 14 days after arrival)y Scratches are an absolute no-go. They cause diffraction patterns. This filter must be replaced.

First thing when new equipment arrives: check visually for obvious defects. You need to claim them ASAP. Optical issue like IR leaks could be claimed later if you don’t had a chance to detect it (hidden issue).

@Adrian Criss It depends on the stretch of the flat. If you have an extremely well illuminated field, what you see there might be an effect from an internal reflection. I have similar effects with my OIII and it calibrates perfectly.

Cheers,
Björn

@Björn Arnold
Thank you for the advise1 The problem is that I did not open the filters within 14 days. I was waiting for the new filter wheel for them and when it arrived I did not install them right away. Waited for few more days for the weekend, to do it cleanly and carefully. So in total it took more than 4 weeks....

Hello everyone,

I received also damaged filters with scratches. They were replaced immediately without any trouble or discussion. Same happened to my local AP friend here. 2/3 filters per set had scratches. Some very small, some really severe. Attached some examples.

After some talks to Baader team, they claimed they started to check the filters before shipping. I guess there were more complaints. I looks like there were some problems (with the first batches). Well, I consider that is/was an issue during ramp up of the new production process.
