It’s nearly time! Siril 1.4.0 is feature complete and we have finished our pre-release testing. The next stage is the beta release, where we encourage testing from a much broader range of Siril users. The code runs well and can already be used as a “daily driver”, however the increased number of eyes on the code during the beta releases is important to help identify any weird corner cases that we just haven’t come across ourselves.

Feature-wise, 1.4.0 marks a huge leap compared with 1.2 across many areas of the software. There is too much to go into detail of every change, but we have put together a summary of the most exciting new features and improvements here: https://siril.org/download/2025-04-26-siril-1-4-0-beta1

I have been using SIRIL for several months. Switched from Photoshop. I thought SIRIL was great before, but these changes seem extraordinary. The SIRIL Team is absolutely fantastic. Thanks for all the hard work you do in providing an excellent tool for Astrophotography.

Thanks for all the hard work it's really appreciated.

Almost everything I've done since I started 15 months ago has revolved around siril.

Without SIRIL I'm back to the Stone Age.
And this is not the last time I donate to this program.

I have a question: Since many years I happily  use your latest siril version from github and compile it myself. Works like a charm. However, I am still only getting 1.3.6. Is there something else I need to do besides
git pull --recurse-submodules
sudo ninja -C _build install

to get to 1.4 ?

What give you git pull ?
It should update.

Please, send the whole logs after your commands.

I can't thank the team enough for this update. The new tools have had a noticeable impact on the quality of my work. The gap between paid and free processing software is really getting narrow with this release.

@Cyril Richard : it was a permission problem in the siril folder, it is solved now

@Cyril Richard is there any way to modify or change the QE graph for a camera in SPCC? I have an extended range QE graph available for the ASI2400MC that I'd like to use since my camera is not using a UV/IR cut window, but I'm limited to the UV/IR cut window's range.

It is possible to improve the data yes. Here is the way to provide new data: https://siril.readthedocs.io/en/latest/processing/color-calibration/spcc-database.html

In your case, you just have to modify the existing data and open a merge request.
