Hello and welcome. I'd like to ask everyone who uses Seastar for astrophotography and is tried to using the Seastar smart telescope with Eqututorial wedge before its EQ Mode arrives. And also, I'd like to ask those who are operating the Seastar in Eqtutorial Mode. Is there any difference in how the seastar is being while being operated in ALT AZ mode with Eqtutorial wedge, or does it act as it usually does? Also, how does the seastar act in Eqtutorial Mode.
I haven't had the chance yet to operate Seastar like this. SO u don't know what changed for the telescope, or does it work as usual, it does in alt-az and being used with Eqututorial wedge. Can anyone tell if there was any difference while being operated in ALT AZ Mode with EQ Wedge, and how does it act now while being operated in EQ Mode, and is there any difference between these operations if you guys tried to do that?

I do not have a Seestar but a co-worker does, and I'm interested in one and have done some research. The EQ mode of Seestar is released if you update the app to the newest version and update the Seestar firmware. When the seestar is on a wedge, it changes the way the motors operate, as in their rotation speed. Because the seestar would now be on a "level" pole with Earth's rotation when on a wedge, the motors can act as an RA and Dec motor instead of Alt Az. This stops field rotation from happening, allowing longer exposure times. In the future, I hope the Pro version that is coming out has a secondary camera on all versions. This would also allow ZWO to integrate the secondary camera to be a guiding camera when in EQ mode. This would allow for even longer exposures past a minute. In the end, for your questions, the Seestar will act the same as normal, but will allow you to take longer exposures.
