I live on the Somerset Dorset border in a small town with reasonably dark skies with my wife and kids. I became interested in astronomy 25 years ago but consider myself just post beginner because I have just rekindles that interest aftwer several years away. Ive cleaned out the observatory and cleaned up my scopes and am very much enjoying rediscovering the joys of sleep deprivation and late nights! I use a selection of scopes and mounts but favour ioptron mounts and am currently rediscovering a 11 inch form mount sct for visual use. I am also interested in Photography including film and I collect stamps of the Falkland Isles where I visit with work from time to time. I love to read especially Tolkien whose writing I have loved for 45 years!. I like good food, whisky (in small doses) and good red wine.
