Unable to Use and Sign in to PixInsight “ Disappointed with Purchase

Today, I purchased a PixInsight license and successfully installed it on my Windows system. However, I am unable to sign in. I have reported the issue to the support team but have not received any response.

Currently, I cannot log in to PixInsight, and I keep getting the message: The specified email address corresponds to a deactivated license.

What should I do next? I feel frustrated that I purchased the software but cannot use it at all.

Just wait for support!  There's nothing else to do.

Honestly, I would just give them some more time. It's a weekend and they're not a large team with 24/7 support.

They usually answer very quickly. Check your spam folder - I had a similar problem and found out that their answers were automatically put to my spam folder.

I assume you used your new credentials that were in the email you got after you bought the paid license?  They are not the same ones you used for your trial license, nor the same that you use to log into the SW distribution website.

Not sure if this will help.

I don't know very well but sometimes i'm obliged to stop North VPN to success connect

Welcome to PI….ok fellas, just kidding, you can put down your pitchforks!

If I well remember: if you had initially a trial license, once you buy the commercial one, you have to define a different userid. You do not have to use the trial userid to access the commercial license. Maybe this is the problem you are facing.

In addition, the SW distribution license is different from the one you use to access PI forum!

In any case, go to PI support: they answer pretty quick normally, and they are the owners of the problem you are facing!

Like they said Be patient nothing comes of posting negative topics if you have not given it a chance to be resolved its a weekend and people get busy…and they are real people not BOTS

And if you thought logging in is Disappointing then HOLD on because the learning  curve is STEEP…HOW STEEP YOU ASK…. So true!  However, one of the best ways to come up to speed is to watch the Pixinsight tutorials at https://www.youtube.com/@PixInsight.  I learn new things about PI from these each time they come out.

To the OP, don't be put off PI by what some may say. While I agree that there is a learning curve - what complex software doesn't? - each person's experience will differ. I'm no software expert but while it took (is still taking) a while, I was able to get decent results after only a relatively short time. There are plenty of resources available online and in print, so be patient and you will see the benefits of using PI, hopefully without losing too much hair.

And, as others have said, be patient for a response from the PI team.

Just what Aaron LiscoSaid-- Couldn't put it better myself. You need a bit of a thick skin with pixinsight. It takes a long time before it pays off in spades. If you easily get frustrated (as I do!) just remember this...it's a long term commitment, like getting a puppy. Very time consuming; infinitely rewarding. Don't throw in the towel at the first hurdle. There are hundreds more in front of you.
Enjoy!

Like others here have commented be patient! Support is usually pretty darn good with their software!

I didn’t see anyone comment about this above but anytime I have a problem I go and post right on the PI forum and almost always get responses from someone over there within 10-15 minutes. There are people/mods there that get in contact with PI support team to give them a heads up.

Always worked for me!

Back on PI learning curve.
I have switched to PI after using another paid SW for years.
When one knows the main principles of astro image processing, PI  has the great advantage of implementing the processing pipeline in a very straightforward manner, with a process dedicated to each specific step.
So I would recommand to start with documentation describing the overall flow of processing, which becomes pretty "standard" with a bit of experience.
As for trakning, I have reprocessed older images to get familiar with the tool.
Anyway, it's definitely worth the effort.
Last comment : I not totally comfortable with video tuto's. A large amount of them are really verbose, and it's hard dometimes to come to the point.
When available, I prefer good ole texts….

For me, the learning curve wasn't just that it's doing complex things.   It's more that the GUI doesn't follow many established norms.    I don't know how many times I clicked the left "No" box thinking I was clicking yes.    There are just tons of examples of this.     But I wouldn't give it up for the world...really is a game changer!

There's actually a settings in the Preferences > Message Box Settings to revert to the "normal" yes on the left and no on the right

So, has the OP heard back from the Pleiades Astro staff yet?

I am curious myself. So far he has not posted any images that we could determine without his statement if he has solved his issue or not.

Ditto, wonder what he found out.
