Hello Astrobin community!
"Backyarders" is an astrophotography podcast aimed at beginners, enthusiasts and experts alike, sharing the stories of astrophotographers around the world.
When I started astrophotography a couple of years ago, I was really struck by how much support was available from others engaged in this pursuit. This podcast is my way of giving something back.
I don't have the technical expertise nor the experience of many involved in astrophotography, so I focus on the human end of the telescope.
Unfortunately the episodes are only available in the English language however I welcome ideas for how we can make it multilingual and become truly accessible around the globe.
The podcast receives no money through sponsorships etc and nor do I personally. I'm not a journalist but have a little experience interviewing people through past employment in management and health and aged care.
Episodes follow a general format covering
* "your backyard" - where you image now and interesting locations you've imaged in
* how you got started in astrophotography
* an overview of some of the equipment you've enjoyed using
* inspiring people and places involved in your astrophotography experiences
* why you do astrophotography, and what you hope might come from people engaging in it
Generally I record interviews using zoom online and I have just initiated a new way to share your story without an interview using "My Backyarder Story" through the website:
http://aimglass.sitebeat.site/
If you would like to listen to examples of previous episodes you can find them in Spotify (link below) or by searching "Backyarders astrophotography" in other podcast applications.

You will notice the variety of guests featured in episodes. My aim is to share any astrophotographer's story, from those starting out to very experienced and / or professional astrophotographers.
So you are all very welcome to be involved, please let me know if you are interested
Thank you very much for reading about the podcast, I look forward to sharing your stories soon.
