Asiair + hub usb

ZWO ASIAIR Plus ZWO ASI183MM Pro ZWO ASIAIR Mini Equipment Help Needed

I own a Asiair Pro and a Asiair Mini.
Normally I connect filter wheel and guide camera to the hub of a Asi 183MMpro, then the camera to the Asiair; I connect EAF and my mount to Asiair and the last usb port normally is used with a flash usb.
As I am waiting for Zwo CAA I will lack a usb port for usb flash.
Is it possibile to use an external usb hub with Asiair? If yes it should be powered with external source or is it enough through usb?

I used an unpowered hub for a while, but found the entire system became more flakey. I'm thinking the power available for all the USB connection was not enough. I'd definitely go powered hub or not at all.

I got my ASIair256G a couple of days ago and tried an external (unpowered) USB hub as well - yes it works, but the stability is not 100% - it sometimes hangs for a while…

I currently use a usb hub connected to one of the camera usb ports. That way I have a total number of 9 usb ports available, 4 on the asiair and 5 on the camera.
Everything works without any issues.

DSLR question
I connect my Canon 70D DSLR to my ASIAir Mini Mini with a USB cable. And it works fine. But I notice theres a small plug in hole on the mini labelled DSLR, and I wonder what thats for. Thx for reading.
