I ask the experts here at Astrobin help regarding the following subtle problem I have not been able to solve since months.
I own two two IMX571 Touptek color cameras that work nicely. Except that only one of the two is producing RGB images with the red hues (specially H-alpha) toned down, like this and this one. Please note that I use the camera in conjunction with a short focal (a Sigma 135 mm f/1.8 Art lens), and that this is a generation 2 camera, the one with the detachable front flange, available since 2023.
Suspecting that my filters were responsible, I made tests with different brand clear filters, and even with no filter at all the problem persists.
I remain with 2 open variants
1. The original IR/UV glass is defective, and cuts red below H-alpha wavelenght
2. The camera or sensor is defective
Have you ever experienced such a problem?
Thank you in advance for your help!
