Has anyone ever put a ZWO EAF on a William Optics Fluorostar 91?

just curiosity to see if it’s compatible

You think it will not fit? Looks like if you remove one of the manual knobs, it will work perfectly. Just in case you may want to order a Takahashi bracket together with the normal one from ZWO.

Not 100% sure.
Best I can find is this guide  , of the installation on the 81mm William optics.
Perhaps you can see and judge wether or not the construction of the focuser is similar enough to look if it would fit.

All I know, is that the brackets and adapters are pretty versatile and forgiving and it doesn't take much to line things up correctly.
I'm using mine on one that 'technically" isn't supported by the bracket. But it does work.

ZWO also lists a diagram with all the measurements of the bracket. You might be able to measure if it fits the holes on your scope.
So far, any image I've seen of the EAF being installed on different William optics, have been with this bracket.

And there is also the other bracket for Takahashi scopes if it doesn't suit.

Hope this helps, as I haven't been able to find a guide specifically for the 91.
But if the focuser and holes are similar, it should work.

I bought a FLT 91 a few months back.  The ZWO EAF will definitely fit on the coarse focus knob on left side.  You have to take out a screw on the bottom of the focuser to get to the 2 set screws holding the knob on and then remove knob.  The rest is the same as with other scopes.  Warning, the EAF and focuser shaft will probably be touching in the flexible coupling.  That was my only issue,  I didn't get the set screws tight enough on my first go.

Thank you Michael, exactly what i was looking for! Someone who has tried and tested it! How are you finding the scope?

It works pretty well for me. I’m just an old guy doing his thing. The R/F is not great but I’m a WO guy. Up until  2 months ago I had a Redcat, GT81, FLT 91 and FLT 132. Thinking about another 132 to dual on my MX+ mount

Hi Ricky
I would be very surprised if the EAF doesn't fit the focuser on the FLT 91, as I have the focuser installed on both my telescopes, The FLT  132 and the Zenithstar 61.
The bracket is a bit to short to reach to the opposite side of the  giant focuser on the FLT 132, but there are more threaded holes.
Go for it👍

Best of luck
Roy
