What Causes Siril To Fail A Specific Script?

Hello and welcome. I'd like to ask everyone who uses Siril to process their astrophotography images.
I have been using Siril for quite a while since I got into astrophotography.
I am not aware of any script failure that can happen when processing an astrophotography image I took.
I know the most common script failure can happen while registration can happen. But I still wasn't sure what could cause these script failures. Since they are not related to a working directory problem, I can only guess they are related to the astrophotography image that is taken. For instance, if u run an OSC pre-processing script on an Image that has fewer stars with the object in it, Siril will simply fail the script when it's about to register the frames. But still wasn't aware of these script failures. Does anyone can tell what are those things that can fail a specific script in siril?

System memory, calibration, uer-side errors in classifying subs etc. There are many many reasons scripts can fail.

So I'm assuming most of them are related to system memory, I think.
Most of the time, the script can fail when it's about to register the frames. Or at least for me thats the common one.

The only script failures I have seen is if there aren't enough stars to do a global star registration. This can happen in star poor areas if your subs are really short or using long focal length OTA. When that happens I just run everything manually so I can chose the registration method that works with the data. It's not difficult and there are a lot of tutorials on YouTube that will step you through the process.

Oh yeah. I saw a specific video about manual processing in siril by Deepspace Astro. I have not watched it yet. I was just unaware of the script failures cause I only met the most common one u talking about.

I really need to take the time and mod the OSC script so I have a version the uses other alignment methods, particularly 3 star.

You can also just use Sirilic and have all the options you want.

I almost never stack inside of Siril anymore. I find Sirilic handles flat correction better than the OSC script anyhow.

It can fail for a number of reasons. My most common ones are if the images are different sizes, or the folders have not been named properly. Sometimes it can not register the stars and has to be done manually. Most can be resolved on further investigation. I have had to delete the process folder and restart the programme before, this also helps as it can get confused with previous runs.

That's true but I like the speed and simplicity of the basic scripts. I always go back into the process folder to open the calibrated and registered lights to run the various culled stacks I use for my workflow. It's all very quick and straight forward.
