Barlow Lens for Meade ETX-125

Hello everyone,

I have an old but very well-preserved MEADE ETX-125. Due to the relatively large focal length of 1900mm, I would like to use it to get into planetary photography. However, I would also like to add a Barlow lens.

And here is my problem: I don't know which lens is suitable. I have a 2x lens that fits into the 1.25" focuser. But that doesn't help me. I screw my camera (ASI 294mc pro) onto the back of the telescope using the camera adapter (which came with the telescope). That works very well and I have already taken pictures of M51, for example. I just don't know how to install a Barlow lens in the optical path.

Does anyone have the same telescope and can help me? I would really appreciate it.

Best regards and CS

You should be able to get a 1.25 inch nosepiece for the camera. Then you can use standard a standard 1.25" barlow that fits into your focuser. I still work that way. It came with my ZWO585. The nose is 1.25" and the male threaded base is M42.

That was the solution! Thank you very much! My camera also came with a nosepiece, but I had overlooked the part. Anyway, it works now. I now have to connect my camera directly to the focuser instead of the camera opening.  Thank you very much for the help!
