The computer at my remote observatory changes the display resolution when I connect with Splashtop

A few weeks ago I purchased a new computer to replace the old one I have at my remote observatory.  Both the old and the new computer have no monitor.  I use my old computer with a dummy HDMI plug that emulates the connection of a 4K monitor at 60Hz.  As a result the display at my home monitor was exactly as if it was connected to the remote computer.  This fix worked like a charm.

My new computer is not displaying correctly on my home monitor, but the problem is that it doesn't want to recognize the dummy HDMI plug I have and it's impossible to control it remotely because the resolution I get is really bad.   I access the remote computer with Splashtop, but I also tried using Chrome Remote Desktop without success.

The new computer is a Trigkey Mini PC with a Ryzen 5 processor, 6600H (6C/12T, up to 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR5 500 GB.  Here is the link: https://amzn.eu/d/eOlHZr7
The graphics card is an AMD Radeon
The HDMI emulator plug I have is this one:  https://amzn.eu/d/a3KblfQ

Is there anything else I can do to fix this problem???  After all the time and effort I placed in getting this computer ready, I would really like it to work as it should.

Clear skies,

Hi Wanda,

After reviewing the PC specs it seems that the PC can run three monitors via different interfaces including HDMI; the first thing that I wonder is if you have to assign the output that you want to use? (although you would expect HDMI to be the default in any case).

I've never used an HDMI emulator (although it's a good idea) and when I access my remote PC's (with no monitors) and I always have to manually set the resolution which will hold until you power down or reboot etc. You should be able to do that if absolutely necessary? (right mouse click when on the desktop and then select "Display Settings")
