hello, I purchased an edge hd 8 and hyperstar v4 recently and set it up tonight for a trial run. I’m having a focus issue and was hoping for some advice on diagnosing and fixing the issue. On a previous night I used the star method to collimate my edge hd. The hyperstar was not attached at the time. When I attached it tonight, I figured I might have to recollimate. From the outset, I could not get a star into focus. I turned the focus knob clockwise and kept checking focus until I went as far clockwise as I could. In the attached image you can see that the star remained greatly defocused. I then went counterclockwise, but the image got fuzzier.
my first thought is that I must have a back focus issue, but I thought the Starizona hyperstars are designed to have the correct bf. I have the Starizona filter drawer on the hyperstar and was using a ZWO asi183mc pro camera. There was no filter in the drawer.
any thoughts on steps I should try; did anyone else have a similar issue when they first started out?
