Controlling Camera Fan Speed in NINA

Dear Astrobinners,

I have a ZWO ASI2600MM camera and am trying to figure out if I can adjust the fan speed in NINA.  I googled it and it seems to be possible, but I cannot find the setting.  With ASIAIR there's a switch for High or Low Fan Speed, so I know the camera itself can be adjusted.

Anyone know how to do it?

Thanks,
Jerry

With NINA it comes on when connected if using the native driver.  I know of no fan speed setting.

I, like Jim, know of no setting in NINA.  You might look at the ZWO native ASCOM driver to see if there is a setting there.  I don’t recall one, but I wouldn’t have been looking for it.

Thanks Jim and Jeff, I'll check the ASCOM driver, I haven't installed it.

There's no setting for this. The camera controls the fan speed. And as best I can tell on the 8 or so ASI cameras I own, there are only two speeds: (1) Off, and (2) full blast. Not sure why this is an issue for you. The fan is there to cool the internal electronics. Presumably, the ZWO engineers selected the fan that would get the job done.

It's not much of an issue, but today when I started making darks I was using ASIAIR as the controlling software, and it has a switch for Full Fan Speed and Half Fan Speed.  I could hear a very slight noise when I put it on Full but it was silent when at Half Speed and at Half Speed it cooled the camera fine in a room that was about 70 degrees Fahrenheit .   So I know the camera is capable of responding to different speeds.

Apparently NINA doesn't have that setting.   As so long as the fan noise doesn't cause any vibration, it should be OK.
The ASI2600MC I've been using also makes a little fan noise but it's never affected imaging so the 2600MM is likely going to be fine.

If you are worried about fan vibration, one of about 10 links somewhat fixing the problem.  Do a YouTube search - "ASI2600 fan vibration"

Hi, as far as I know the camera is controling the fan to manage the sensor temperature. Without fan, you cannot reduce the sensor temperature as the radiator of the thermal coolers need to be ventilated to extract the heat. If you have significant vibration you have to find another way to equilibrate your fan.
