Hello all!
My name is Lachlan and I am a 16-year-old (very) amateur astrophotographer (as you might have figured). I started this hobby nearly 2 years ago when I received a telescope from a school fete and got bored by looking at stuff in the sky. All I could see were stars and planets! I started using my family Canon 70D on a tripod to capture the Milky Way. As everyone knows, I just went further into debt with my parents buying more and more equipment, having only today bought the ASI533MC Pro. Still using a Canon lens, my next saving project is to get a decent telescope. I am currently using the (not yet arrived) 533MC Pro attached to a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens all on top of an AZEQ5 Mount.
School is the biggest challenge for me in this AMAZING hobby. I normally don't image on a school night, which rules out 5/7 nights of the week. I then work on a Friday, another night gone, (6/7). Then the challenge of clouds, moon, study and sleep, I get a max of 2 images out a month. Wish it could be more, however, school must come first. Hoping to study some sort of astronomy after high school.
I am very grateful to the many friends that have lent me amazing gear to help me work out where I want this hobby to take me.
Clear Skies to everyone!
Lachlan
