Anomaly in the Lagoon Nebula

I need help identifying an anomaly in one of my Lagoon Nebula subs.  There appears to be what looks like a star but it is definitely not because it does not exist in any other sub from the same session.  No streaks, no periodic lights like that from a satellite.  No trails.  Just this blob with a slight flare.  Any ideas?

It seems you got something similar I got few weeks ago smile

There are a couple of possibilities. Point Meteor is the most likely due to the slight flare on either side. Another could be a cosmic ray interacting with your camera.

it also could be a specular reflection from a satellite or bit of space junk. I've seen this happen visually with the ISS, a flat panel get oriented just right and it's like a flash bulb going off. I can see something that's small enough not to leave a trail doing this. In fact, I think this is much more likely than a meteor coming right at you. There's a lot of stuff up there.

Hi all, Starting with: This is a 12” newtonian (1200mm), with a Poseidon-M connected to 50mm (round) filters and an OAG-MAX (with a coma corrector) - 56mm back focus So I’ve been banging my head against a wall trying to figure out what this is… I fir...

Strange persistent structure/artifact in old (2025) subs — what could it be?
Hi everyone, Quick (and kind of funny) question. I revisited some March 2025 data of the Dolphin Head Nebula—only 13 × 180s frames. A few days ago I resumed the project and decided to register/align those 2025 subs to my new 2026 data so I could comp...

What's this?
The is a crop from a 170 min. integration of 60 sec subs. 585mono, Ha 6nm, simple histogram stretch. I only see this around very brightest stars in the image. It looks like diffraction rings from the star but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
