Hello and welcome! I am looking for assistance from experienced users of The ZWO Seastar s50 device. I am trying to find objects in the night sky. When I attempted to locate some objects that appeared after the moon, specifically deep space objects, the device indicated that the object was uncentered. What does this mean? Could it be related to the tripod, or is the device unable to detect the object? I would appreciate any insights into this issue. Thank you!
The device can't Center the object. It Says Uncentered and retires one more time. What does that even mean?

I don't own the S50, but... Are you in focus? It's looking for star patterns, not the object per say, that you are searching. Were you focused on the moon and then switched to looking for deep sky? If so, your stars would be fuzzy, out of focus.

Why would focus change when going from the Moon to the stars, both objects are at infinity as far as your optics are concerned.

Learn something new every day. But I will have to test that fact out on my next session. I've never imaged the moon or looked at the moon except with binoculars, and so I assumed the focus would be different.
that's new to me also; I thought the focus would be at least slightly different
