I have a canon 6d that I want to astro mod (visible + h alpha).
Does anyone know any good places to send my camera at a good price?

website doesn't work?
I don't know what sort of quotes you are getting for the conversion, but I recently bought an Altair 533M tec cooled camera for £650: that and a Baader LRGB filterset I got for £100 literally blows ANY converted consumer DSLR's out of the water. You'd say that's a tiny sensor with only 40% diameter compared to the FF DSLR. Indeed it is. But the QE and more importantly noise is sooo much better, that if you put that tiny camera on a half size scope you get better results! Not to mention that many targets are small anyway and the smaller pixels of the 533 chip would come handy to see some more details.
There is simply no point of putting any money in DSLR's anymore for astro. If you don't use your 6D to anything else, such as daylight IR photography, than the most prudent strategy would be to sell it as is and invest the money in a dedicated astrocam. Mono is a steeper but even more rewarding learning curve but OSC still offers the opportunity of setting the temperature constant. The 6D thermal noise at working temps (sensor 20+°C even in the middle of Winter!) is awful.
