I’m using a Cloudwatcher/Solo with N.I.N.A. and I’m not sure where I should place the Safety Monitor (Wait until safe) within the sequence. Does it go in the Global Triggers, the Sequence Start Area or the Sequence Target Area?

Also, “Wait until Safe” suggests that this applies to “Start Up” only. Will it also shut down if rain occurs?

Hank - there's a thread on here regarding NINA sequences and safety monitors. Definitely try to find that

you'll want to use the sequencer powerups with additional triggers for When Becomes Unsafe and embedded within that Once Safe

that's in the imaging container for me

Hi Brian,

I really appreciate you taking time to help me get this weather related stuff sorted out. Apparently I'm not the only one as there's a "rain" post just below this one on the Astrobin page.

Building my ROR observatory was a lot easier than trying to get this stuff organized. My goal is to be able to go to sleep knowing that if rain comes, my gear is safe.

I can't image because of weather this weekend so I'll work on getting N.I.N.A. set up as you have.

Thanks,
Hank

Thanks to all of you who posted your sequencer setups. I didn’t realize the potential of the advanced sequencer and PowerUps.

Now that I’ve had time to “play” with the material that is in this post and also the “Rain” one, I’ve got some questions. Keep in mind that I’m currently just doing one target a night and if I get shut down by weather, that’s it for the night. Once I’m comfortable with that I’ll try the Start up when the weather improves situation. I am using PowerUps for “Wait Until Safe” and “When Unsafe”.

1. Since I’m just doing regular, basic smart exposures, is there any advantage to using PowerUps enhanced smart exposures? The same for auto exposures?

2. The “hover” information on “Wait Until Safe” says: Wait until safe: delete this instruction to end current sequence. What does that mean?

3. Does it matter where the “When Unsafe” container is placed in the sequence?
