I am imaging from my backyard rolloff in Central Oregon. Many nights recently have been smoked out totally with skies essentially totally overcast. AQI have been as high as 200.

Last night it was not too bad with a AQI of 33 and I could make out the mountains 50 miles away. There was still some smoke on the satellite images although thin and high.

As an experiment, I ran some O3 (second image) images along with the Ha (first image). As expected, the star counts for that night in the O3 were significantly poorer but the Ha star counts were essentially unaffected. The circled images are from last night, the rest are other non-smoky nights. FSQ with ASI 6200 and 3nm narrowband filters.

This is one of those things where you know how it will turn out but interesting to demonstrate nonetheless.

FYI, this was in Cygnus - the area of the "Propeller Nebula" so high in the sky....
