Do you prefer clicking on the little arrow or clicking on the name of the topic, to go to the first unread post?

If this is possible, insert a "home button" in the zone between Read and unread messages ?

To the extent helpful - I had no clue what the arrow did, never tried it.   What these things really need is a hover-over explanation.

Same. I voted that clicking the topic title should bring you to the first unread. It’s how many other web forums work, so that would be the most intuitive choice to me. As far as getting back to the beginning quickly, I’d suggest exposing thread pages as a breadcrumb at the top and if there are many pages always including page 1 (if this isn’t how it already works). I don’t think it’s important to have a quick access to the beginning before you click in to the thread.

Same as above.  I had no idea what that arrow did and never have used it.   I've always used the topic title.
