Welcome to all who have joined the group. I thought it about time that we have a group for astronomers in the NW who share the same struggles, you know what they are…not many clear nights, light pollution etc. Hopefully we can share ideas of how to make the best of what we have, but feel free to discuss anything related to astroimaging and astronomy.

Hi Rob, not sure I qualify for this group as I do most of my imaging from Spain, but I do some lunar and planetary stuff from home, so thought I'd join anyway.

To kick off a discussion, I'd say narrowband has the best chance in light-polluted skies, but you need lots of integration time. Wondering if anyone in the area has tried the multi-band filters for DSLRs?

Hi Peter, yes of course you qualify, always great to see remote and home based images.
I agree, narrowband will give the best results but a limited number of targets and not much use on my favourite objects - galaxies!
However I was looking at the quad band filters recently but they had poor reviews because of haloes (Antlia brand anyway) that leaves triband  as a possibility. A few of the other LAS members have experience with these filters and cmos cameras, maybe they can chime in?
