ASI 2600 MC owners - I need your help - Forums

Dear 2600mc users,

I'm thinking of buying this camera,

Yet there is one thing that concerns me - I wanna do both DSO and planetary

So Im wondering what the FPS is like on 2600

Could someone plz test it?

Here are the settings; (you'd probably need to use either ASIcap for sharp cap or fire capture)

Video 16bit

ROI - 1000px by 1000px

Exposure - 0.2ms (200us)

Gain - 380

What FPS parameters do you have with such settings?

Hi.
I have the ASI2600MM (same sensor, just no colour filter). It's great for DSO but not really fast enough for planetary, even with a relatively small ROI. I tested it a little while back; can't recall the specific results but ultimately not really fast enough for planetary. I now have an ASI585MC for that (which will hopefully get a good workout in a few months).

Hi, all.
For any others who may find this of value, I ran some tests on my ASI2600MM and ASI585MC.
The final line of each group is testing max horizontal resolution with the likely minimum useable vertical. For the given vertical (400px) fps only differs between RAW16 and RAW8 on the ASI585MC.
The 0.2ms exposure that Alien_Enthusiast is interested in offers something of an upper limit to the fps.
