FWIW, I've got this error before and it was caused by too many of the stars being saturated. I ran the desaturate stars command under star processing and it solved the issue.

if you drizzle you might have to play with the Fl value so the pixel scale matches your actual pixel scale.
It can be a pita sometimes.
