Replacement Focuser for Esprit 100

Hello Everyone,

I have had my Esprit 100 now for about a year and have had very good luck with it. Well that is until I moved from a filter drawer to a 5 x 2 filter wheel šŸ˜ž Once I got everything tweaked in I had about 1 nights worth of data collection before I had experienced eggs for stars across the whole field. Investigating the situation I found the my drawtube has ā€œsagā€ and after adjusting it as best as I can I’m still not happy with it. It also has a ā€œnot so good feel where at times it kinda gives you a grinding situation. Thats even after making the adjustments. I’ve talked with Sky Watcher and followed there recommendations including using the Starizona mounting bracket and I’m more and more thinking I’m going to have to replace it because I’m just getting frustrated.

I know many are using the stock focuser with good luck. Evidently I’m not so lucky.

I’ve read this post here on AB https://www.astrobin.com/forum/c/equipment-forums/sky-watcher-esprit-100ed/skywatcher-esprit-100-with-esatto-3-anyone-using-this-combo/ and was curious if there is anyone else out there with this scope that has a better focuser on there scope that isn’t a $1000 unit? I really like the Moonlite focusers but they are only selling the NightCrawler unit now which is even more then the Esso 3.

I’m using an EAF to control the focuser through SharpCap.

If you have any other suggestions for would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
