Any need for an IR/UV cut filter with a ZWO ASI 2600MM-Pro mono camera, which doesn't have a IR/UV cut window?

I have ordered a ZWO ASI 2600MM-pro mono camera (for luminance mainly initially anyway) which doesn't have an IR/UV cut off window.

Do I need an IR/UV cut filter for it as currently I do not have any CA using my ZWO ASI 2600MC-Pro colour camera (which does have a IR/UV cut filter)? I have an 8" Skywatcher Newtonian and a Explorer Scientific coma corrector.

I have also tried some luminance images with an Altair Astro GPCAM 2 on M51 and compared with the colour camera, overlapping the 2 images and the FHMW values are less with the mono camera. The stars don't look particularly fuzzy, they look quite normal to my eyes.

The next question, would this be because the mono camera doesn't have a Bayer filter so the resolution is better, so stars are smaller?

Most LRGB filters I know of filter in the visible light range even Luminance unless you are just using a clear filter.

I have the ZWO ASI2600MM Pro and always use LRGB or NB filters.  I agree with Matt.  A good luminance filter is all you need and that will prevent any star bloat.   I never had a need to use a UV/IR filter alone.

With a perfectly achromatic system (reflectors) you don't need any UV/IR cut filter unless you want to prevent that light to reach the sensor.
