I have ordered a ZWO ASI 2600MM-pro mono camera (for luminance mainly initially anyway) which doesn't have an IR/UV cut off window.
Do I need an IR/UV cut filter for it as currently I do not have any CA using my ZWO ASI 2600MC-Pro colour camera (which does have a IR/UV cut filter)? I have an 8" Skywatcher Newtonian and a Explorer Scientific coma corrector.
I have also tried some luminance images with an Altair Astro GPCAM 2 on M51 and compared with the colour camera, overlapping the 2 images and the FHMW values are less with the mono camera. The stars don't look particularly fuzzy, they look quite normal to my eyes.
The next question, would this be because the mono camera doesn't have a Bayer filter so the resolution is better, so stars are smaller?
