Startools 1.8 is  currently under development, Ivo is  currently working a Narrowband Accent" module  for duo band users , initial image Ivo has posted certainly looks interesting https://forum.startools.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2225&start=10 Ivo also working on a new deconvolution algorithm so some good things for Startools users to look forward too .

great to hear. I find Startools by far the most intuitive software out there. Using GPU acceleration really helps reduce crunching time as well. Here's to more to come :-)

I started with Star Tools because, obviously it's the easiest.  I have never been sorry for that choice.
Now I work daily on learning PixInsight, because I feel it ultimately provides more tools and more control.  But the learning curve makes Mt. Everest look amateur.
I start every image with total PI, because my skills need development.  I am always trying to learn or remember how to best use its many, many processes and scripts.
When I finish, the next day I reprocess using APP to stack and Star Tools 7, to see if this time, my PI skills have FINIALLY surpassed what ST can offer.
Well, the short answer is no.  ST still consistently gives a smoother and more polished result than I can so far achieve in PI after a year of effort.
Yes, I give Ivo much credit, he is a very smart guy.
I will continue to use both, and I am very happy to have both!  I wish I was better at both.
I hope that eventually my PI skill levels will get me to be a better overall processor.
Now, to escape from Bortle 7.

There is a page on Startools forum with reference to pi processes and Startools equivalent module, https://forum.startools.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=447
I have watched a few  pi videos and for me personally it’s too cumbersome and involved, everyone to their own though 👍 the new modules in Startools 1.8 are really handy  especially the Nbaccent module .
